CANNES — The Hotel Barrière Le Majestic has long been a destination for celebrities who come to Cannes, France, for its glitzy events and suave celebrations. Gilles Bastoni, who took over his father’s position as head concierge in 2006, tells us that every VIP’s demands are met — “unless it’s illegal,” he jokes.
“But it can be from just reservations for a restaurant up to skies-the-limit . Renting a yacht, finding a ticket for an event,Bastoni says the wealthy — who pay upwards of $4,000 per night for a suite in the hotel — make wild requests at times, but those of Hollywood’s elite typically come with “a bit more spice.
“She really wanted this one and in the end I’m not even sure she knew it was forgotten in Paris,” the hospitality pro elaborates. “Basically, she needed it at a certain time in her room to get dressed and the company panicked a bit and we had to find a solution and we sent someone to Paris to pick it up.”Cotillard once relied on hotel staff to save her from a wardrobe malfunction before the Cannes Film Festival about a decade ago.
