A council's decision to partially demolish a housing estate receives a mixed response.

Lynda Kopper, 70, has lived on Ekin Road since 1984 and said "the thought of losing my house is killing me"

Cambridge City Council wants to knock down the majority of the council homes on Ekin Road, Cambridge, andThe decision has split residents' opinion, with some wanting several homes to be given a reprieve, while others said every property should be demolished. Lynda Kopper, a semi-retired kitchen worker, has lived in the north-east corner of Ekin Road since 1984.

Of the 122 homes on the 1940s estate, the local authority said 14 houses towards the south of the estate would not be demolished."The prospect of losing it is killing me - I can't start again - what am I going to do? I want to live out the rest of my days here," she said.
