Hamidin said he was in touch with the Selangor Palace on Wednesday , adding that he had sent an official letter to meet with Sultan Sharafuddin.
“I have contacted the Selangor Palace, and have sent a letter requesting an audience with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. “I understand the Sultan’s extreme disappointment. Let me meet with the Sultan,” said Hamidin during the National Women’s Football League’s launch at Lalaport Bukit Bintang City Centre on Thursday .
Hamidi's request for an audience came after Sultan Sharafuddin’s strongly worded statement hitting out at the Malaysian Football League for punishing Selangor for pulling out of the Charity Shield fixture against Johor Darul Ta’zim . On Wednesday , Selangor Sultan said he believed that the punishment of a RM100,000 fine, paying compensation to the home team and MFL for any losses incurred, a three-point deduction and playing a match without spectators was absurd and excessive considering that victory was given to the opposing team .
