Two people are rescued from their car amid flash flooding as intense downpours hit several parts of Queensland's Darling Downs.

A major flood warning is current for Myall Creek near Dalby, following heavy rain that hit several parts of the Darling Downs overnight.

The Bureau of Meteorology said severe thunderstorms also created intense downpours around Warwick, with more than 80 millimetres falling in an hour. "Residents in affected areas need to be vigilant and to prepare their homes for any impacts of flooding in these low-lying areas.
