avery_haines Lots of places like this are not doing enough to protect their own staff. My mom works as a home helper for a seniors support org in GTA, and despite the dramatic loss of hours, they haven't yet moved to offer work sharing or layoffs.

avery_haines The screener at the home my wife works at didn’t even know what a normal temperature was, checked and had to ask them if it was good, locking up masks, discouraging use of PPE, this is in Durham Region.

avery_haines Since last week at my wife's work, all staff are required to wear PPE all the time. This is at Vancouver Coastal. They have a lot of stock. Private Long Term Care facilities is a different story. They are always stingy when it comes to supplies.

avery_haines they aren't. my nephew works reception for minimum wage in a high-end nursing home and he is expected to screen visitors, take their temps and perform other duties outside his responsibilities without any PPE. but he goes to work because he doesn't want to 'let anyone down.' :(
avery_haines Nursing homes aren't taking it seriously, hospitals aren't taking it seriously, and neither are your airports. Should be enough to make people realize this is all some bull
