Daily death tolls are ‘airbrushing out’ hundreds of older people who have died in the care system according to industry bosses

Covid-19 outbreaks have been recorded at 92 care homes in the UK in a single day, the chief medical officer has confirmed.‘In the last 24 hours there have been 92 care homes where an outbreak has been detected,’ he added during the daily press briefing on Monday. ‘If an outbreak is suspected, public health authorities will go in to do testing to assess if an outbreak has taken place.’

The announcement comes after industry bosses warned daily death tolls were ‘airbrushing out’ hundreds of older people who have died in the care system. Care UK confirmed 13 residents had died at Stanley Park care home after displaying coronavirus symptoms.Prof Whitty said he would like Covid-19 testing to be increased in care homes.Asked if deaths are being recorded properly in such settings, he added: ‘Everybody who sadly dies, the doctor will make an assessment based on her or his view about what the cause of death is, that’s what the death certificate says in all cases.

CareIndustryNew I no sum1 who as been around a person who has it and I rang the home and all they said we will investigate that was a week ago and that person is still at work today even tho 2 people have got mild symptoms and 1 is my sister 1 1 old lady as passed there dont care selfishpricks And when care home are short they ring for help and sum1 from out off town comes so they could be infected and spreading it
