These are not the only tragic examples, with other deadly outbreaks at homes in Toronto and Calgary, and in other cities and town across the country. “We recognize the terrible and tragic stories that have come out of seniors’ residences and long-term care facilities across this country, and our hearts go out to families who’ve lost loved ones in some terrible ways,” he said. “We need to make sure that our seniors who are most vulnerable are protected.”
“We’re in conversation with the provinces right now on moving forward on a model of increasing support for long-term care workers and other workers in essential industries,” he said.“We are willing to participate in sending money to the provinces to help and we’re having discussions with the provinces about what that is.”
Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced plans Tuesday to ensure workers only went to one home. We are using every tool available to us.”
