Coronavirus: How big is the problem in care homes?

Each week in the UK, it is estimated that 540,000 people receive support in their own home. That adds up to a million home-care visits happening each day.

Care workers can at times see 10-to-20 clients during a day. This has raised concerns about the danger of spreading coronavirus if the workers do not have enough personal protective equipment .government's advice to care homes on personal protective equipment Care providers have been saying for some weeks that it is difficult to get enough of these items to keep their staff and clients safe., meaning every registered care home should have received 300 face masks each.

Patients returning to care homes from hospitals will also be tested for Covid-19, even if they have no symptoms. To date, the government has tested 1,000 care staff and is due to test a further 1,000 who are currently self-isolating.

So was just watching BBC news report on the total figure of deaths in the UK from covid-19 and I couldn't help but notice this lady looks like Michael Jackson.

As big as the managers and fat cat owners of the homes have allowed it to be! You can’t blame the government or NHS for something that has been miss-managed out of their control.. they charge enough from private and council coffers!!

Greedy care home owners to blame for lack of PPE .

The main problem for me is why the residents and their families are paying so much for the care, yet they are in so much danger!

As the residents rarely if ever leave the care homes and all visitors have been banned for many weeks it can only be the staff bringing the virus into the care homes so until they start testing the staff the death toll will just keep rising

Asking for a friend? Come on BBCNews use your journalistic power for good Hold the govt to account for this scandal
