In a statement, the CQC and DoH said: "The ONS data published yesterday covers the period until April 10. The British Government was accused of leaving care homes "badly in the lurch" during the coronavirus crisis by Labour former Cabinet minister Lord Hain. Also today, new Labour leader Keir Starmer made his first appearance during Prime Minister's Questions in the House Of Commons, Westminster, as Leader of the Opposition.

Meanwhile, Health Secretary Matt Hancock doubled down on a target to test 100,000 people daily by the end of next week.
