Thousands still without power as savage storm leaves trail of destruction in WA

At the peak of the storm 55,000 homes and businesses were without power in Perth and WA's South WestAbout 10,000 NBN customers also experienced internet outages

DFES Acting Chief Superintendent for southern WA Phil Brandrett said crews were overrun with calls for help, mainly from people around the Greater Bunbury area. He said about 3,800 people were still without power, but crews had been working to rectify the situation. "Our crews were up in cherry pickers and elevated work platforms when there were still large gusts of wind coming through, addressing restoration and clearing away hazards," Mr Entwistle said.
