Residents in 10 Victorian postcodes are preparing to be locked down following a surge in COVID-19 cases in the state.

Residents from 36 Victorian suburbs are set to enter four-weeks of lockdown and will be unable to leave their homes unless they are exercising, seeking or providing medical care, purchasing essential items or

going to work. It comes as Victoria recorded an increase in daily coronavirus infections with 73 newly confirmed cases on Wednesday. The restrictions will be enforced from midnight on Wednesday evening. Image: Getty
