Authorities are concerned about the spread of coronavirus into nursing homes in regional Victoria, as a fall in overall case numbers eased the prospect of Melbourne being forced into stage four lockdown.

Victoria recorded 217 new infections of COVID-19 on Saturday, the state's lowest daily increase since last Monday. It was almost half the daily tally of 428 on Friday and just over a week after metropolitan Melbourne resumed stage three restrictions.

Colac in Victoria's western districts was another area outside of Melbourne to record an infection, after a worker at the Australian Lamb Colac meatworks contracted the virus.reported that the virus had spread to two others, including a student at Trinity College Colac related to the meatworker. Mr Andrews said the decrease in the number of daily cases statewide showed that stage three restrictions were taking effect, however he warned that the data represented only one day."The heartening thing is there are more tests than yesterday and about half the cases. Again, this does move around a bit. It is widely infectious and the numbers to jump from day to day," he said.

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said the number of cases on Saturday came as a "relief" after Friday's announcement.

I mentioned the other day that families should removed loved ones from nursing homes for their own safety. You just have to look overseas where the radical left rule and the number of deaths in nursing homes. It was always going to happen.

DanielAndrewsMP you could at least help thed age homes in Vic with face shields and PPE by supplying them with it. You’ve got more the $900,000 worth cash in your coffers from fines alone from covid law breakers. You can afford to provide them the best equipment from US!!!

Authorities are concerned Andrews has no idea what he's doing & he hasn't changed his jacket in weeks.
