The magic you’re describing was pulled off by talented and often overlooked EDITORS, who were, like most of us, probably working from whatever available nook in their home was closest a good WiFi signal. Don’t give away their credit.
Why bother? Just because they can doesn’t mean they should. SNL has had it’s ups and downs, but the creative drought they’ve been in for the last several years seems to be permanent.
The program is trash and should be cancelled. Or should just involve musical performances only.
