The US has accused China of using its consulate in Houston as a 'hub of spying and intellectual property theft'.

US law enforcement officers have forced their way into China's consulate in Houston, where staff were watched by jeering protesters as they packed up their belongings amid a sharp deterioration in relations between the world's two largest economies. Officials try to gain access to the China Consulate General building in Houston, Texas., continued Beijing's recent practice of like-for-like responses to Washington's actions.

After the men went inside, two uniformed members of the US State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security arrived to guard the door. They also did not respond to questions. About 100 Chinese activists gathered at the consulate on Friday, shouting slogans denouncing communism and heckling staff. Senior Chinese diplomat Wang Yi, who is also foreign minister, blamed Washington for the deterioration in ties.

Might one suggest that in pretty much any country in an embassy anywhere there is a so called spying hub. Including the good old USA.

If you discovered a ‘hub of spying’ then you’ve pretty much hit the jackpot. The last thing you’d do is announce it to the world and shut it down. This is just more China bashing from a USA on the brink of collapse.

Those that don't think consulates are used for spying are naive. ALL countries spy on each other, even their 'friends'.

And the consular used to work in Australia as the associate ambassador we should close either the Melbourne one for the Sydney one
