Victoria has seen five additional deaths overnight as the state recorded 357 new COVID-19 cases. Four of the fatalities were women between 60 and 100-years-old, with the fifth, a man in his 80s. Premier Daniel Andrews said 536 of the state's active cases originated in aged care settings among both staff and residents.
After 74 cases were recorded at St Basil’s aged care facility in Melbourne, the Commonwealth intervened, effectively taking control of the situation and moving some residents out of harms way. Health Minister Great Hunt highlighted the importance of a “rapid response” when it comes to dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks in nursing homes. Image: AP
Well the Victorian Health authorities have completely failed to implement procedures to protect these vulnerable residents so thank goodness🙏
Anyone will be better than the lazy Mikakos...
you mean this response centre? The new centre will be jointly managed by Emergency Management Australia, Emergency Management Victoria and VicHealth.. that's assistance... not 'taking control'
in what way has the fed Govt. taken control?
Why such stupid and inflammatory language. Why not the federal government invade Victoria and take over from our government
