KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A man has been remanded for 16 days to facilitate investigation on suspicion of murdering his mother at the Sri Aman People’s Housing Project (PPR), on July 31.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm S. Shanmugamoorthy said the man was arrested on the day of the incident and would be remanded until Aug 15 under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"A team of police rushed to the scene and found a woman, in her 70s, in a sitting position on a sofa. ACP Shanmugamoorthy said preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was awakened from sleep by her son around 7.30pm and a quarrel ensued, resulting in the son hitting his mother using a hard object.
