Italy will spend a second consecutive Easter weekend in lockdown in an attempt to stem a new surge in coronavirus cases.

Non-essential shops will be closed for three days from Good Friday to Easter Sunday and Italians will only be allowed to leave their homes for

work, health or emergency reasons. Lombardy will likely enter a full lockdown from Monday to relieve hospitals dealing with an influx in patients.
