Living in fear that the roof of her house will soon collapse.

S. Pauline, a former Bukit Aman staff, claimed that the structural integrity of her home became unstable following piling work at a nearby construction project.“My house was not badly affected then, but other houses in the surrounding area were.

Pauline said the front part of her house, including the porch and bedroom, sunk slightly while some pipes burst, adding that her house also shook during the piling works. Pauline, in her 60s, expressed indignation with Batu Gajah District Council for allowing the construction in the area.“Some of my neighbours have even sold their land and moved away,” she said.“The land should not be used to construct buildings as it is too close to residences,” she added.
