Under the federal budget 10,000 first home buyers can receive a five per cent deposit to build a home and 10,000 single parents will be supported with as low as a two percent deposit to purchase a home, says Treasurer Josh Frydenberg. "Mr Speaker, when construction work began to dry up, HomeBuilder came to the rescue. New house starts are now at their highest level in 20 years," Mr Frydenberg said during his budget address on Tuesday night.
"New loans to first home buyers reached their highest level in nearly 12 years. HomeBuilder has been a huge success. And our $2 billion investment in affordable housing is bringing on more supply. "Mr Speaker, in this budget, our housing measures go even further. Helping another 10,000 first home buyers build a new home with a five per cent deposit, supporting 10,000 single parents to purchase a home with as low as a two per cent deposit.
