A Bulldogs player has reportedly learned his fate after an NRL investigation into his alleged attempt to sell team property.

The 25-year-old was stood down by the club last Friday, after reports emerged Lewis was attempting to sell a team speaker, despite being on a $450,000 salary.

Channel 9 journalist Danny Weidler revealed the halfback is facing an uphill battle as he fights to save his NRL career, tweeting: “Lachlan Lewis to get significant fine. Been told around $10k. He will be told he has to apply to the NRL to register to play again”. Bulldogs halfback Lachlan Lewis is set to cop a $10k fine for allegedly trying to sell a team speaker on eBay. Lewis, the nephew of rugby league legend Wally, also was involved in a bizarre on-field altercation with the Rabbitohs’ Cody Walker earlier in the season.
