KUALA LUMPUR: About two-thirds of the residents living in terrace houses in Kampung Sungai Baru, Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, are unhappy with the valuation given to their properties, says Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.

"They are not happy with the valuation given to their properties, but they are not against the development.

"This issue is between the private developer and landowners, but it has become a heated issue of late. "I have asked the discussion about the issue to be delayed, so that my deputy Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias and I can be involved with the matter with the relevant stakeholders," he said during the launch of Pustaka KL @ Keramat Mall, at Jalan Datuk Kerama, Kuala Lumpur.

Previously, it was reported that Shahidan will ensure land acquisition in Sungai Baru, Kampung Baru will be done fairly. He said he would personally negotiate with the owners and developer involved to ensure a fair agreement could be reached.
