Six people have died, homes have been inundated, families evacuated and thousands are without power as widespread flooding continues. qldfloods

South-east Queensland is bracing for another day of damaging rains compounded by storms, high tides and dam releases, with fears thousands of Brisbane properties could be inundated.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has been chairing a meeting of the Queensland Disaster Management Committee and is due to provide an update at around 10am AEST. He said that flooding estimates included situations where the floodwater entered front gardens or backyards, but did not necessarily enter the home.

A severe weather warning for damaging winds and heavy rainfall was still in place for Queensland’s south-east coast and parts of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt, including Brisbane, Gold Coast and Ipswich.
