OTTAWA—NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says he is confident — based on briefings that included a conversation with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — that Thursday’s federal budget will honour the deal he made to prop up the Liberal minority government in exchange for action on a suite of progressive policies.
“There’s a strong indication of good faith, because they followed the agreement and provided us with information and a sense of what’s going to happen,” Singh said. The deal includes eight measures the government pledged to act upon this year.
And he is confident the budget will fulfil the pledge in the deal to create a program this year that provides dental care to children 12 and under without insurance coverage for families that make less than $90,000 per year. “I expect the agreement to be honoured, which is good for people. But there will be things that we’re not going to be happy about,” Singh said.
“It’s still the Liberal party governing. They’re going to make decisions that we don’t agree with,” he said. “What we’ve done is forge an agreement to get certain things done and we’re confident that …there will be meaningful action on those things.”
aballinga Bend Over Hear It Comes Again!!!!!! Oh wait let me throw some sand in that lube!! 😡🤬🖕🏻

aballinga Liberal bag licker!
aballinga I doubt Trudeau wants a election !

aballinga Expects. As in 'hopes'? And silly liberals want to give both Trudeau and Singh a parade. Guess what: probably NOTHING will come of this. The level of naivete is adorable!
aballinga New social programs are born every now and then. But old social programs never die. Why? Because once Canadians get used to receiving something for free, they will never give it up. That is why with each new social program, Canada is one step closer to financial doom/bankruptcy.
aballinga Let's not take away all incentives for Canadians to study hard at school and work hard after school to provide a good life for themselves and their families. Let's not make everything free.
aballinga Paid by who? From where? The budget balances itself?
aballinga The world has become more dangerous. We need to invest more in national defense. We can't afford more social programs.
aballinga Whats with the NDP and the dentists? Health care in the toilet and they are obsessed with teeth. I sense a conspiracy with the NDP beholden to a cabal of Dentists. Lol.
aballinga Can't wait to see how much debt we're going to unload on future generations. Why young people aren't upset about this is beyond me. Do we not teach basic economics in school at all?
aballinga Collaborative government is the way forward 💕
