'Our neighbour tortured us for six years - the abuse was so bad we moved out'

The pair have lived in their semi-detached home for 13 years but spent the last six fearing Welsh.

Retired health and social care worker Angelika said: "When he first move in, I offered him a cup of tea to be neighbourly but he told me to 'f*** off'."He wasn't too bad but they moved out three years ago and that's when he became threatening.Angelika said matters came to a head when he set fire to the fence and their conservatory “went up in flames”, from which they were lucky to escape.

He subjected the couple to a relentless campaign of harassment, banging on the walls as they were trying to sleep.“It was a living hell. He put a petrol canister outside at one point, the whole street could have been taken out if it was set on fire. "He already had a restraining order put on him and he kept breaking it. The only peace we had was when he was in jail for the night."BROKE RESTRAINING ORDERS
