Darragh O'Brien said he has launched a 'Call for Buildings' as part of an effort to identify vacant stock

The Minister for Housing is meeting with construction and property experts, to identify ways to accommodate Ukrainians arriving in Ireland.

In a letter inviting stakeholders to the meeting, seen by RTÉ News, Darragh O'Brien said he has launched a"Call for Buildings" as part of an effort to identify vacant stock. He said it was not possible to quantify the impact of the war in Ukraine on the housing system in Ireland and a menu of options was now required to help accommodate people in the medium to long-term.Other possible actions include the use of temporary structures on serviced land and accelerating the building of new homes.

Arriving at the meeting in Dublin, Minister O'Brien said all of this must be done while protecting efforts already under way as part of the Government's 'Housing for All' plan.

Eh, so now going to start building new homes with speed, for the Irish on waiting lists I assume? Then, in turn, refugees. People will only give kindly until such time as lists are being skipped for housing, health etc. Do it fairly, regardless of nationality.

Excellent. A thorough survey will add the benefit of unearthing cannabis growhouses in isolated areas. Once sat beside a guy on a Galway bus, complaining on the phone he couldn't believe he abandoned London to grow 'tomatoes' in Ireland, and no strain was working out for him.

What about our own Darragh there’s not much calling for them Bluffer

🤡🤡

Jez he couldn’t do that before when it was needed

Housing for all (the world) is the new plan
