In a letter to the board last Monday, Joseph Motaung, the Tshwane regional organiser for the National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union , said the CSOS was “a toxic environment” for the workers, riddled with allegations of irregular appointments and recruitment processes of new employees.
Motaung cited the appointment of at least five of the CSOS service providers as suspicious, among them Vashma Projects, Cherry Picked Solution, Courtesy Group, Business Automation System by Interfile and Qualitative Innovative Solutions. The source said senior CSOS officials led “a syndicate of some former board members, a senior official in the department of human settlements, some businesspeople and other shady characters in looting the organisation”.Nehawu’s letter appealed to the board to investigate alleged instances of “advanced payment to service providers before rendering services”. The union also alleged that non-CSOS members participated in the bid committees in contravention of the law.
