Averly suffered a data breach that compromised its clients’ personal information — including real estate agents, landlords, and tenants.

, suffered a breach of its customer data on 9 May, according to a statement from the company.

Averly’s supplier confirmed that the attackers had not accessed financial information, and the company said it had not yet determined whether the attacker was still in possession of the data. “We have been unable to identify the perpetrator, as incidents like this are usually carried out anonymously,” it said.

I wonder if Averly, Dis-chem, etc. regularly audit their 3rd party suppliers? If not, then they are weak and deserve to be held responsible.
