A lack of housing availability means young people in the Frankston-Mornington Peninsula area are facing homelessness, or travelling unreasonable distances for shelter.

He said there was nowhere local to refer young people for crisis accommodation when they need it.

North Melbourne is more than 90km from Rosebud, and the trip can take more than 2.5 hours on public transport, each way."It's really disheartening," he said.A group of local support services have banded together to call on state and federal governments to fund youth crisis accommodation in the Frankston-Mornington Peninsula area.

What about all the other states they all have the same crap going on.

it is happening in adelaide as well, i went through 64 homes ,then ending in a hotel, not nice, for 4 months before getting unit.then only there for awhile got sold. than another 34 homes before i got this house. itsa disgrace.

It's a state ALP issue. Victoria is a Labor state and it's held power for most of the last 20 years. You can blame the federal LNP all you want. They've never had it so well with revenue intake. Andrews government spins the truth so well most Victorians believe them.

😵😓💔

And they dont in Sydney?

The large majority men.

Thanks for sharing and letting people know there is a housing crisis for all people in all states in this country... the government needs more case workers as it certainly helps if people experiencing homelessness have a case worker to advocate on their behalf...

Yes Dan has ignored the people and health for years and years, the real nail in the coffin was his 9 month lockdown which created the biggest crisis we have ever seen and his mandates are banning hundreds of thousands of people from even working which is driving it up further

That’s ok , lefties are happy as long as the refugees have houses to live in . Screw Aussies

Take one look at NSW, homelessness is everywhere under this disgusting Federal Government.

Unbelievable you lot. The ratio of bad news stories between Mel/Vic and Syd/nsw runs at about 100 to 1. This story is a classic case, highlighting an issue that affects people all over Australia, but it's Melbourne where all the focus is placed. ABCaustralia

Mickleham? DanielAndrewsMP otherwise it’s just a very expensive taxpayer funded white elephant. MatthewGuyMP

MarkMcGowanMP $5.7b 🙄🙄

This is also a state based issue which includes Labor and LNP governments. They will blame eachother instead of working together to solve it. Making people survive on poverty level wages and benefits affects everyone. Poverty and homelessness - declare it a national disaster
