A sprawling block of residential land in one of Queensland's most desirable hinterland locations is set to be sold off to a property developer for a modest sum — and not put out to public auction — as part of a land-swap deal.An 8,200 square metre block of council-owned residential land is to be sold to a property developer for $850,000 as part of a land-swap deal
The 8,223-square metre site at Maleny is a two-minute drive from the centre of the bustling township. Councillor Winston Johnston said the land being sold had been valued by multiple experts, and the price reflected the fact that there was no road access to the site. Once secured, that sliver of land would better link the council's 126-hectare Maleny Community Precinct to the surrounding area. The precinct will include sporting fields, children's play area, aquatic centre, wetlands, large open parklands, rainforest areas, walking trails and include Maleny's 18-hole golf course.
Our Central Coast Council (NSW) Councillors did nothing like this but they were expelled. This is so corrupt. That Mayor should be stood down as from what I could see was that it was a real conflict of interest.
Sounds more in the developer's interests, than the community's. We need a much stronger ICAC. Start with the assumption all councillors are corrupt.
That council needs the the CCC going through everything they do
