A felony arrest attempt led to an hours-long SWAT standoff in Clay County that ended when the man was found on the property and taken into custody, deputies said.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, investigators received information about 2 p.m. Tuesday that Horace O’Neal Jackson was at a property on Malibu Circle, just off Blanding Boulevard, in Orange Park. Jackson had felony warrants and was wanted out of both Clay and Duval counties, according to Clay County deputies.

Investigators said they received information that Jackson had barricaded himself inside the home on Malibu Circle, so a standoff ensued with U.S. Marshals, Clay County deputies, SWAT and negotiators. The standoff was still going on after 10:30 p.m. Deputies said that after several hours, Jackson was found during “an extensive search of the residence” and was taken into custody.
