Nonprofit aims to end cycle of youth homelessness with job training

Fletcher, who asked not be identified by their full name, has to take two trains and a bus to get home, but would never complain about the inconvenience because having a home to go to wasn't always a guarantee.

Fletcher now works at Breaktime, a nonprofit helping end the cycle of homelessness among young adults. More than 4 million young people experience homelessness every year in the U.S., according to a University of Chicago study. Research shows that as much as 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+.

Schoen, a recent Harvard graduate, was inspired to start Breaktime while working at a shelter during college.
