He has made a career out of selling celebrity homes and grand mansions with everything from bowling alleys to 25m water slides, but Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star Josh Altman admits even he has been wowed by Sydney home prices.
“Every time I’ve come to Australia, I’ve admired the architecture and the design of some of the multimillion-dollar homes going up for sale in Sydney,” Mr Altman said Despite the current uncertainty with rising interest rates, Mr Altman believes that property buyers are smart enough to look for the right value when inspecting a home – particularly when purchasing a property with a large square footage.
“If you get into the market at a low price and you buy a home that needs fixing, it’s the ideal situation to make money when selling it down the track.”“The key point is to make it unique, look for ways to increase the value of the home when flipping it. Don’t just do a by-the-numbers renovation, think about how to make the home stand out among the rest of the competition.
