SINGAPORE — Two Republic of Singapore Navy personnel who posed as students to solicit donations from residents of a public housing flat last month were found to have acted under the influence of alcohol and action will be taken against them, said the Ministry of Defence on Thursday .The two men were caught on camera posing as student volunteers soliciting donations from a resident of a Housing and Development Board flat in Hougang.

"The RSN holds our service personnel to high standards of discipline and integrity, and expects them to be law-abiding citizens. The two servicemen were summarily trialled on July 20, and actions will be taken against them, which include financial penalties." Mindef also said that the police have looked into the case and will not be taking any further action against the two servicemen.
