Yang Huiyan, a majority shareholder in Chinese property giant Country Garden, saw net worth plunge to $11.3bn in a year

Asia’s wealthiest woman has lost more than half her fortune over the past year asYang Huiyan, a majority shareholder in China’s biggest property developer, saw her net worth plunge by more than 52% to $11.3bn from $23.7bn a year ago, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

She became Asia’s richest woman two years later after the developer’s initial public offering in Hong Kong. Chinese authorities cracked down on excessive debt in the property sector in 2020, leaving major players such as Evergrande and Sunac struggling to make payments and forcing them to renegotiate with creditors as they teetered on the edge of bankruptcy.

Proceeds from the sale would be used for “refinancing existing offshore indebtedness, general working capital and future development purposes”, Country Garden said in a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

Oh no! That means she only has $12B left! How will she possibly be able to survive?

Sickening🙄

She looks like a stunned mullet.

No one needs this much wealth.

Someone said She might make $8million USD per day

Poor darling.

Slow trombone

And some ppl think China is actually a Communist country just because the ruling party says it is 🤣

Poor soul only has $12bn. However will she manage? Will have to make do with a mere two premiership teams!

I wonder is she'll be investing in Australia next?

Oh no! Only 12 billion left? That's the trouble when you get down to your last $12....BILLION, China doesn't support the needy when the really need it.

Ok - fine to add the comments, but look more deeply at this story - especially those who think China is all dominant and has boundless power and wealth…. It is unraveling at quite a fast speed. China

my heart bleeds for her .... she'll not even miss the 'losses'.

The large majority of the worlds wealthiest women got there via inheritance or divorce. Here she is losing all that advantage given to her.

No fucks will be given.

Can we pass the hat around and help this mogul?

Pooe diddums!

‘Stop moaning and start owning’ is property millionaire’s advice to renters - realestate.com.auDon’t blame investors for Australia’s current rental crisis, says a prominent real estate investor who owns 40 properties. Thoughts? Let him stand in front of a crowd of people struggling with affordable housing and explain himself. I don't hate the player, I hate the Game. We have a rental crisis due to decades of GOV mismanagement, de-regulation, lack of oversight and banks allowed to do as they pleased. Lack of social housing. Property should be for housing people, NOT A SPECULATIVE INVESTMENT VEHICLE. Thats interesting when the collapse of the entire global financial system is on 🤔
