VANCOUVER — The chief executive officer of B.C. Housing has retired abruptly, saying he can no longer fix the myriad problems facing the organization and is concerned for his own safety.

“On the beach, a man lay fatally stabbed,” Ramsay said. “My neighbour, who lingered a bit longer than Fred [his dog] and me, was bowled over by the two young men accused of [the] murder as they ran across the park to get to him. “I was swarmed by opponents and threatened with physical violence,” he said. “I had to be escorted to a private elevator, for my safety.”

'I no longer have confidence': BC Housing CEO stepping down, citing recent violence against homelessBC Housing CEO Shayne Ramsey is stepping down from the organization, saying he no longer has confidence he can 'solve the complex problems facing us at BC Housing.' If we do not have enough housing or work on the island than we need to stop importing people to the island until we do. Basic common sense. This does not reflect on him. Bigger issue. How can the public have any confidence in Dave_Eby This was his responsibility and it is in more disarray than ever. The fish rots from the head. Amazing how many big top jobs in Canada pay hundreds of thousands of dollars...but these very supposedly smart people will not work with each other to figure out housing. jjhorgan HonAhmedHussen Taleeb RosieBarton
