An emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act is in place in the area, following reports several people have been shot. 9News

Queensland Police said multiple people have been injured near Collinsville, in the Mackay region, west of Airlie Beach, this morning.

A male found some distance from the property is being treated for a gunshot wound. He is in a critical condition.The RACQ Central Queensland rescue helicopter has transported one person to Mackay Base Hospital. Queensland Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act in the Collinsville area.

The declaration came into effect about 11.30am and the boundaries encompass Sutherland Road, Normanby Road, Mount Compton Road and Starvation Creek.
