---- RoeVsWade ruling spurs LGBT Texans to change plans, leave state

None of the state’s top elected leaders has said in any detail what Roe’s fall could mean for the rights of LGBT Texans.

Neither wants to leave Texas. But they’ll consider it if gay Texans are once again threatened with criminal prosecution. “The things that are most concerning are, ‘What are we missing?’” Raianna said. The couple asked to be identified by their first names to protect their safety due to concerns about attacks against LGBT educators.

As school district employees, Amanda and Raianna said they’ve made sure to educate themselves on every possible step of the process. They have a good lawyer, a good doctor and have chosen to stay in the Austin area due to the city’s strong support for LGBT residents.
