Quebec Premier François Legault is promising to build thousands of new social and affordable housing units if he's re-elected on Oct. 3.

Flanked by CAQ candidates, François Legault made his first election promise: more than 10,000 new affordable housing units.

"We took it upon ourselves, the CAQ, to evaluate the need for the next mandate at 11,700, so about half of what's needed over the next 10 years," he told reporters in Laval, Que., accompanied by local candidates. Saul Polo, a Liberal MNA who represents a Laval riding, said the province is missing 50,000 housing units.

While Legault has yet to announce an official start date for the fall election campaign, Quebec's main party leaders have been criss-crossing the province for weeks, holding public appearances and naming candidates.

BS

Lmfao scared he's gonna lose already 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The affordable part will be for the ones living in them like the thousands of refugees fleeing the US through Roxham Road. But building them certainly won't be the affordable part. You can pretty much double the regular costs for those. And you get to pay for it all!

No government does anything affordable. Liberals have campaigned 3 times using this and won but have yet to do this. If fact they have done the total opposite.

Why not build them now? This is blackmail.

Just promises.

he would build curfew camps.

Too little too late to deserve another chance

Promises and lies. CBC poisonous propaganda BS

Another fascist. Just like the face painter in Ottawa. Western Canadians need to wake up and see it for what it is, who controls them, who denies them of their choice.

I think it’s great that he’s gonna be busy in his retirement. Joking. He’s never leaving office because the CAQ have a hammer lock on the exploding Quebecoise middle class that’s now ensconced in and around Montreal. They just need to keep the homeless camps away from Dix30.

The market will never build affordable housing and we have to stop subsidizing their profits. Build public housing.

'Vote for me, and I will provide you with ghettos and more of the people that reside in them'

But let me guess... on the condition that the tenants speak French?! 🤣

Race to the bottom

He just realized the need Political promises that will never be made

Yeah right. Je pense pas

Units? Or Pods?

How about just suspend development fees and restrictions - it would allow developers to make smaller and easier to build homes and still be profitable.

Don’t vote for this lockdown pro jab king He’s racist

He should start right now

Francois Cochon

That'll cost 4 times as much as a regular house, that'll be built like a straw house, and that will be unusable within 5 years. Thanks for nothing Mr Political Man.

The sad part is Quebecers will vote back this psychopath tyrant back into power again .Enjoy your digital identy ,passports , lockdowns, and curfews again Quebecers you voted for it .

Did he build some this term

Canadian politicians seem to be in perpetual campaign mode these days.

………….. Now? A lil late to get your arse moving…
