BUENAVISTA, Quezon – Twenty families lost their homes in a fire in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Poblacion before dawn here Monday, August 15.
The fire started at 4 a.m. in a store owned by businessman Paul Gulmatico. It quickly spread to nearby houses and stores made of light materials.Firemen from Lopez, Gumaca, Macalelon, Catanauan, Mulanay, and San Narciso responded to the fire. Affected area was one block and the cause of fire still has to be determined, said Police Major Edmund Capistrano, local police chief.
