Around 9:30 a.m., officers attended 156 Albert St. E. to support city crews as they cleared the yard of debris and property. The IMET activity took place without incident. Around 11:30 a.m., officers attended 0 Hudson St. Officers had attended the property earlier in the week, advising people in the area they had to leave the property. Upon re-attending on Friday, the people were no longer there, but there was debris and property left behind. This activity took place without incident.
To date, in 2022, Sault Police have been involved in 23 Integrated Municipal Enforcement Team related calls. IMET is a partnership with Sault Police, Sault Fire Services, City of Sault Ste. Marie building and by-Law, other local enforcement agencies, as well as Housing Services division of the District Social Services Administration Boards. The enforcement-oriented team brings together all agencies with enforcement mandates, with the support of other partner agencies, to develop action plans to address a variety of community issues and concerns.
