'My son and I are very frustrated with all of this. Why does the University accept students that they are aware need a dorm if they can't guarantee one?'

Why are college campuses seeing all-time demand for housing?

Traditionally UNF has offered a waitlist for upper-class students, Ennis said. But this is the first time the school has had a waitlist for first-year students. "Although that timing is far from ideal for first-time-in-college students, this could be a viable option for students on the waitlist who desire an on-campus experience," Ennis said. UNF's current bed base count is 3,504, but the school is projecting a residential population of 3,725, leaving a deficit of 221 students without beds.

UNF is also giving students the option to share their information for an online group run by Housing and Residence Life to help students seeking roommates. Ennis anticipates it will be a private Facebook group, but additional details weren't immediately available.
