Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says there will be better outcomes for Indigenous people when they have a “sense of ownership” over decisions being made.
Mr Albanese said the government’s intention is to release the Voice to Parliament referendum this term. “If you want to improve housing, health and education outcomes, as well as close the gap on life expectancy, don’t make those decisions in Canberra in isolation from asking the people who will be directly impacted by those decisions,” he told Sky News Australia.
