With Holy Trinity on the market as one of the properties being sold by the Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation of St. John’s to settle compensation claims with victims of sexual abuse, parishioners may soon need another place to worship. “It’s sort of up in the air how it’s all going to work at the end of the day. There’s a lot of unknowns associated with it,” said Pollard.

In a letter to parishioners, the committee has asked them to indicate how much financial support they are willing to provide as a lump sum payment to assist the cause once it obtains a mortgage, and then if they can provide regular contributions to help pay it off. “There was a lot of things that we needed in that area, but the church wasn’t necessarily one of them,” said Tobin.
