The Bay Area's out of control housing crisis — a shortage of properties and rapidly rising rents — has pushed some educators elsewhere. Milpitas Unified has put out a call to parents asking if they could rent out vacant rooms to educators.

The school district sent a message to parents on a communication board asking if they could rent out vacant rooms in their homes to teachers, in hopes of retaining them.

what happens to the 15% of the new development set aside for low-income people?

Have to get rid of all the regulations and ordinances that prevent building and creative housing expansion. I'm sure there's ridiculous rules against renting rooms as well.
