Martha’s Vineyard’s homeless shelter coordinator said newly arrived migrants would soon need to move elsewhere because of the island’s housing shortage. Affordable housing is scarce on the island and has hampered the hiring of essential workers.

in September. "Indigenous people whose families have lived on the island for centuries have been forced to leave their homeland. Firefighters and government workers can’t afford to stay in the communities they serve."

"So, you know, everyone is meeting about this. There’s multiple wheels that are turning and departments that are working together. It really is a community effort — and that community is, you know, from here to Boston, probably to the White House.""The difficult challenges are … at some point in time, they have to move from here to somewhere else. We cannot — we don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants. We certainly don’t have housing.

"I had one young man come to me and he said, ‘Can I go to the ferry now? I have to go get a job today. I’ve been gone for two months. My family needs money.’ All right, he wasn’t asking me for money. He wanted to know if he could leave to go get a job. Like, that says something about him as an individual." "Yes, yeah — the refugees. I mean, every single one of them wants a job. They’re not here saying, ‘Give me money’ or ’Give me clothing’ or ‘Give me this.’ They want to work.

Build some section 8 housing on Martha’s Vineyard, and train the immigrants to fill the employment gaps. What do they think the rest of the country does with the immigrants being sent to other parts of the USA.

Not surprised Politifact…..you don’t rate the issues you don’t agree with.

AirBnB says otherwise

Housing shortage

I know someone who has a 10 bedroom home there. They might be able to help

Do you think Del Reo is better equipped?

Looks like these are just empty words now. Shameful.

Ron DeSantis will be moved to housing on a military base on Cape Cod So much for Martha's Vineyard being a sanctuary city like they declared themselves a year ago. Isn't that human trafficking?as usual the hypocritical dems. We have have those people in our backyards but its ok for rest of country Lol, they don't care when hundreds of thousands overrun the border states but when a handful of them are dropped off at their Liberal Lily-White Elitist Haven, they are all up in arms about it. What hypocrites. Liberals don't care about the rest of America.
