The Central Bank’s decision to increase the amount an individual can borrow for a mortgage will only push up prices further, the founder of a consumer forum has warned.
“So, Ciara gets the same house but she’s just going to be paying more for it and she’ll have a higher mortgage for the rest of her life or the next 20, 25 years.“It’ll push up the price of houses which should, in theory, increase the supply of houses a little bit but this does not resolve the problem.
This can only go one way. Have we learned nothing from the financial crisis?
And the charade starts all over again..banks must be feeling the pinch..but when they hit the wall previously,they were convienently bailed out..other businesses weren't so lucky.

What's the point in increasing the amount of money available if people can't qualify to get that money ? .. the same baks won't give you a mortgage if you cant show savings even if you have the deposit, even if you've been paying a rent that's higher than the mortgage repayment !
