A dirt levee wall has been built by residents in Echuca to help prepare for the approaching floods and to protect homes.

“We’ve spent the weekend helping the community out, sandbagging, sandbagging our own place and only to be locked out, away from the town,” Mr Dean told

Sky News Australia.To protect his home Mr Dean has sandbagged around the premise and set up pumps inside the property, in the event any water gets inside.
