Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien has acknowledged that there will always be “challenges” in hitting house-building targets.
In an interview on RTÉ’s The Week in Politics, Mr Varadkar said, “We need to face up to that and take every action that is possible. When Mr Varadkar’s comments were put to Minister O’Brien by The Irish Mirror, he acknowledged that hitting targets will remain “challenging”.“There's always challenges in delivery, but we've the plan in place to do that. And it's taking hold.
When asked if he believed there should be “political consequences for Ministers who fail to miss targets”, Taoiseach Micheál Martin stated that the war in Ukraine has had an impact on housing output.
