Here is a rendering of Kalina House, a proposed housing facility to support individuals with traumatic injuries and their families.CLEVELAND, Ohio-- After losing both of his legs in an accident, Mark Kalina Jr. was inspired to help other trauma victims. With the help of his foundation, he has created a transitional housing program to support individuals who have experienced traumatic injuries and their families.
With the help of his family, he would go on to create a charity under his name that would help raise money for people that faced similar situations.Throughout Greater Cleveland, thousands of individuals each year suffer from traumatic injuries that can impact mobility, either temporarily or permanently. Unplanned medical events can cause a significant disruption in the lives of those directly and indirectly affected, the release said.
Roughly 2,000-3,000 square feet will also be used for “rotating programming and social services to support guests’ return to independence.”
