The Ontario integrity commissioner has been asked to investigate whether the premier or housing minister tipped off developers about their plans to open up the Greenbelt.

Leader Mike Schreiner told reporters he filed an affidavit on Monday asking for an opinion on whether Premier Doug Ford and MPP Steve Clark breached Section 2 or Section 3 of theSection 2 covers conflict of interest and ensures that a member of the Legislature does not knowingly make a decision that could further their own private interests or those of another individual. Section 3 prohibits a member from providing insider information that is not publicly available for private gain.

“Our initial search of registered lobbyists indicate that some of the individuals that have been reported by the media to have recently purchased land in the Greenbelt are not being registered as having done any lobbying, or hired any lobbyists to lobby on their behalf,” Schreiner said. The government says that once the land is removed, it is expected that construction will begin no later than 2025.

“The more layers people pull back, the more Mr. Ford’s decision raises alarm bells,” interim NDP Leader Peter said in a statement. On Tuesday, Clark was asked repeatedly whether he, or anyone in his government, had told land owners in advance that it was planning on removing sections of the Greenbelt. He did not deny it, saying only the government followed “all the procedures.”

There will be an Investigation re: Greenbelt and developers. Housing Minister Clark will 'assist' That is like allowing the fox to assist in securing the chicken coop.

Ya think

I say 'yes' go get them...but hey...so what if this gov't is exposed for what it is, corrupt..not only is there NO accountability, there are NO consequences! How is that possible? Have we gone backwards? Are lowly citizens now owned by the land holders? Looks like it!

Great I would rather hear about an OPP investigation Perhaps that will be step 2

Giving a random guy the title of integrity minister!!! See the problem now?

He absolutely did! fordnation has failed for the people that voted for him! Most Importantly fordnation has failed for the people of Ontario! He is as corrupt and slimy as JustinTrudeau !

Of course he did. We all know it. Wouldn’t expect anything less from him.

Seems to me that should be an easy and obvious 'Yes'

Of course he did. Dont y'all know how business works, especially when there is HUGE money involved? There is a secret bank acct in the Cayman Islands for 'Mr Timbit' which he'll be able to access down the road This is how it works in all business Only the naive think otherwise

I wonder why mike never took the leap to the federal Green Party. Fuq off. 90% of Ontario is uninhabited bush. We will build homes where all the jobs and people are. Greenbelt is a scam to artificially increase the prices of already-built homes. Spend your energy investigating the destruction of historic buildings to build more ugly condos Probably a heavily leveraged multiple home owner
